Along Via Roma, the old shops sell porcini mushrooms, Sila cured meats, caciocavallo cheese and Sila potatoes. A piece of the mountains to take home.

Monte Curcio, skiing and cable car
In winter the cable car from Tasso serves two slopes, a red and a blue, with snowmaking. In summer it climbs towards the Strada delle Vette for walking and mountain biking.

From the village
The Monte Curcio loop
CAI trails 443 and 403: a 12.6 km loop through beech and larch pines, about four and a half hours, up to 1,770 metres. You set off on foot from the hotel.

Horse riding in the woods
Horse rides with the Circolo Ippico Sila in the village, and with the riding stables at Croce di Magara, a few minutes away.

E-bike and e-MTB rental in the village, April to October, helmet included. There is also an adapted bike for wheelchair users.

Lake Cecita and the Cupone visitor centre
On the shore of Calabria's largest lake: wolf, red deer and fallow deer areas, botanical and geological gardens, and trails from a few minutes to a few hours. In spring and autumn black storks and ospreys stop here.

The little church of San Lorenzo
A small wooden church with a pitched roof and a slender bell tower, on the shore of Lake Cecita. Silence, the lake and the woods all around: beautiful at sunset and under the stars.

An easy 35 km loop, mostly on gravel, via Moccone, Cupone and the San Lorenzo chapel. Good for families.

The Giants of the Sila
Temporarily closedThe FAI reserve with larch pines over 300 years old. Closed since 24 July 2026 after two trees fell; the Casino Mollo, the old hunting lodge, is still open. FAI members get 10% off with us.

Lorica and Lake Arvo
In summer canoes, kayaks, pedal boats and a boat on the lake; in winter the cable car climbs Monte Botte Donato, the Sila's highest peak at 1,928 metres.

Nordic trails around the village and the Carlomagno cross-country centre, the largest in Calabria. Guided snowshoe walks, at night and on New Year's Eve too.
